Romain Jerome’s CEO Yvan Arpa seems to fall over the idea of production of original watches dedicated to memorable events. The next in the series, announced by Arpa during a press conference and gala evening at the Kempinski Hotel, will be a limited edition to celebrate man’s first landing on the Moon in 1969. This series will replenish the DNA of Famous Legends collection.
“Our brand has no history of its own, that’s why we can use the world’s history!”, claimed Arpa when he became СЕО of Romain Jerome two years ago. The first “historic” model by Romain Jerome is Titanic DNA whose case is made of Titanic’s steel. Then the company produced the watch with a capsule at the back case - Memory Capsule – in which pages from the Bible were encoded.
Now Romain Jerome reached the Moon. The company has manufactured the Moon Dust watch featuring a dial made of real moon dust. The case of watch is made in style of the timepiece worn by Tenten from the comics about the Moon. The style of the comics will be also used for the advertising.
Moon Dust watches are made from fragments of the Apollo XI spacecraft, and the Soyuz spacecraft with straps partly woven with fibers from an International Space Station spacesuit.
Five watches in the Moon Dust-DNA series include the Moon Rider, Gold Mood, Dark Side of the Moon, Steel Mood and Dark side of the Moon Tourbillon with only nine pieces being made. The company guarantees that the origin of each of the unique materials is certified by a legal document authenticated in Switzerland and each piece in the collection will be accompanied by a certificated from the Association of Space Explorers.
